Solar-Lunar Exodus Calendar Update

This is an update to the 12-month Solar-Lunar Exodus calendar displayed here in 2019. Unlike the Babylonian and Jewish calendars, that are corrected by adding a thirteenth month, these calendars always have twelve month years. In this revision, the Exodus Calendar pattern has been updated to allow for The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) to fall on the second day of Month III.

This is achieved by fixing month II at 30 days and provides an explanation for Saul's two day feast on days one and two of an unnamed month, from which David absented himself just before he fled into exile (1Sam.20). The first day of any month was also a holy day, as was Pentecost that always fell on the day after a Sabbath. This modification compresses three types of Holy Day into two consecutive days. Pentecost falls on 9/III in short years and 2/III in long years. This narrows the possible dates for the start of David's exile.

The calendars still consist of an integral number of weeks in which a year may contain 350 or 357 days in short years and 378 or 385 days in long years. Extra weeks are added by extending one or more of the 28 day months to 35 days to keep in step with the full moon to give light in the festival months of Abib, Zif and Ethanim in the Exodus Calendar. An interesting feature of the Exodus Calendar is that Pentecost always falls on the anniversary of the old new year i.e. the first day of Creation. These calendars have an impact on chronology see, for example, Passover, and it transpires that modern Israel became an independent nation again on the self same day exactly 2520 Exodus Calendar years after BC 573/II/10, which latter can be shown to be a Jubilee year when Ezekiel had a vision of a future Temple on the 10th day of an unspecified month at the beginning of the year (Eze. 40:1). Students of prophecy will know the significance of 2520 years: being the period that the gentile nations would have exclusive rule in the world.

Because these calendars interact with chronology, it is a work-in-progress and I am not yet releasing details of the actual working calculations I use, apart from the results that transpire from them. I intend to publish updates following any particular advance in my understanding of the correct application of the Biblical data. Please feel free to make sensible suggestions and I'll be happy if anyone can point out faults in either my reasoning or data. I will not welcome communications from those who merely want to push their own incompatible calendrical theories.
